first floor & two-storey REAR extension, warrington

This project comprises of a two-storey side extension and a whole new first floor over a part of the existing bungalow. Situated by a woodland, the proposals try to make the most of its location and surrounding greenery.

New floorplans have been re-configured so that all the new main living areas and bedrooms are looking onto the trees. This fortuitous opportunity is further enhanced by generous use of glazing and addition of balconies or patios, creating a soothing private oasis for its inhabitants.

Externally, the new first floor addition is proposed as rendered, with the original brick ground floor base below, reflecting the brick-render combination of the surrounding properties yet clearly communicating the old and new. Parts of the new two-storey extension are proposed to be timber clad to create a natural connection to the woodland next door.
